IAS overview

Marks scoring and evaluation of CSAT : There
were two parts of the IAS prelims paper. Paper 1
consisted of questions of General Studies (GS).
CSAT paper 2 had questions to test the general
aptitude of candidate. Both the papers had
multiple choice questions and were of two hours
each.
It was declared last year by UPSC that marks of
English Comprehension section in CSAT paper 2
will not be considered. This section did not have
Hindi translation available, and to maintain
uniformity will be discarded. Thus, the maximum
marks of CSAT paper 1 is 200. Marks of CSAT
paper 2 will be 200 minus the marks for english
comprehension questions.
The questions also carry negative marks for
incorrect answer.
